Daughter ashamed of my traditional looks

Laxmi here.  I have a daughter who goes to school in 9th standard.

She complains to me that her friends tease here because I am very traditional, and she says that i need to be modern like moms of other girls. I generally wear saree and my hair is in plaits. I asked my daughter if i should started wearing Punjabi dress sometimes. But she insists that i wear western clothes like jeans and tshirt. and stop wearing my hair in braid and get a good hairstyle. Being a south Indian lady with really long hair, I am not sure what haircut i can get or how i can style my hair.  I dont know what to do. Any advice?

So are you saying that i should go for a short haircut? like bobcut? But i was thinking only of not putting my hair in braids or bun, maybe i will just keep them open and flowing. Wont that be sufficient?
Also what about my dressing? My daughter wants me to wear western clothes which i have never worn in my life.
